CAN I NEGOTIATE IF I DON’T HAVE INSURANCE OR YOU DON’T ACCEPT IT?

WHAT MEDICATIONS does one USE TO TREAT OPIOID USE DISORDER?

We treat opioid use disorder with buprenorphine-containing medications (Suboxone and others) or naltrexone-containing medications (Vivitrol and others). counting on your treatment program and the medications you choose to take under our guidelines, you’ll receive a prescription that you can fill at your local pharmacy and take orally, or one that you simply carry around for an injection each month.

WHAT IS SUBOXONE?

Suboxone (trade name for buprenorphine sublingual tablet or film) may be a drug used to treat opiate use disorders. Unlike methadone, which is employed to treat opioid use disorders, Suboxone may be a prescription drug that you can take at home. It helps reduce/eliminate opioid cravings and improve your quality of life.

 

WHAT IS VIVITROL?

 

Vivitrol is that the trade name for injectable naltrexone used to treat opioid and alcohol use disorders. it’s given by injection once a month at the Column Health office. It reduces the positive feelings related to the use of alcohol and opioids.

WHICH is best, SUBOXONE OR VIVITROL?

Neither is inherently better than the opposite, but counting on the individual patient, one may clearly be the higher choice at any given time. At your appointment, you and your Column Health doctor will work together to make your treatment plan. a part of creating this plan is choosing which medication is better for you in your circumstances – Suboxone or Vivitrol. Other determining factors include current or previous Suboxone or Vivitrol treatment, if you’ve got completed an inpatient detox program, the extent of your addiction history, and other individual factors.
