Helix mental health

Welcome to Helix Mental Health! Thank you so much for connecting with me here. I want you to know that I am very proud of you for taking this step in your healing journey. Looking into therapy options can be scary… it’s not easy to ask for help. I think you are really brave to have come this far.

I believe that you have the unique ability to face whatever hardships you may face and create change in your life. However, it is often difficult for us to believe in ourselves because we can be our own worst critics. I welcome the opportunity to work alongside you in therapy and hold faith in you and your inner ability to heal as you strengthen these beliefs in your life.

After all, that’s what Helix means to me:

believing in your own ability to deal with it. You are worth it.

I have over 10 years of experience in mental health and have provided individual, family and group psychotherapy to people of all ages: toddlers to older adults. I have worked in a range of settings including inpatient, PHP, IOP and (Helix Mental Health) outpatient mental health. My passion lies in treating mental health issues through a body-centered lens that includes approaches such as body confidence, health at every size (HAES), and trauma-informed care.

I want you to know that I am so proud of you for taking this step to recovery and would be honored to walk the journey with you.

Here is some more information about me:

  • I am passionate about working with individuals to help them strengthen their sense of power, control and hope in their lives.
  • I primarily provide psychotherapy to adults (ages 18+) experiencing distress due to grief/loss, trauma, perinatal concerns, depression, anxiety, and other life changes and challenges.
  • I believe that every person has the ability to grow and heal in a way that is meaningful to them.
  • My approach to therapy is based on the belief that each individual already knows what is right for them – they may just need a safe space to figure it out.

We strive to honor and respect the uniqueness of each person we deal with. We believe in each individual’s ability to grow and heal in a way that is meaningful to them. Our goal is to strengthen your sense of power, control and hope in your life.

If you are ready to try to get to know yourself better and discover ways to enjoy and get the most out of your life, we would love to have the opportunity to work with you.

Anxiety is the body’s response to stress, and occasional anxiety is to be expected. However, if your anxiety is negatively affecting your normal level of functioning, it may be time to seek additional support. We would love to work with you on your healing journey and try to help you see that there may be a way forward.

Depression can be quite painful. It can feel very isolating, and many people dealing with depression often report feeling like no one understands. We are here to show you that there is hope and we can work together to try and build awareness and skills that can help you manage your symptoms effectively.

Sadness + loss

Losing a loved one can be excruciatingly difficult, regardless of the details of the loss (expected vs. sudden, etc.). We understand the importance of self-compassion during and beyond the grief journey. We would like to try to help you explore the changes and find ways to move forward in your life.

If you’re pregnant or a new mom and you’re feeling stressed, tired, sad, or overwhelmed—you’re not alone. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are the number 1 complication of pregnancy and childbirth, and symptoms can sometimes last for years. We can provide additional support to help you look after yourself and in turn strengthen your bond with your baby.

Trauma can be caused by any incident(s) you faced that overwhelmed your ability to cope, made you feel helpless, etc. There is no limit to what trauma can cause and it all depends on your subjective experience(s). We are trained in several trauma therapy techniques and welcome the opportunity to work with you to try to reclaim your voice and your life.
