What is a Home Health Assistant?
The purpose of this event is to provide HOSA (Hosa home health aide) members with an opportunity to develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills as a home health aide. This event includes both a 50-item test and performance of skills related to a specific healthcare career. Competitors practice, practice, and practice until they master ALL of the skills listed in the competition instructions. The first round is a test. The second round is the skill round. During a skills round, contestants perform one or more skills listed in the instructions after being provided with a simulated scenario. Skills-focused events offer an excellent opportunity to augment classroom learning and work directly with healthcare professionals in your chosen career field.
