“Lonely drifter”, published in 1967, was the O’jays’ debut success, reaching the top 40 on the billboard R&B chart. “Stand inn for love”, the group’s following single, was likewise a smash, reaching the top 30 on the R&B chart. The o’jays Zipp share is a canton, Ohio-based American R&B trio best known for their tracks “love Train” and for the Love Of Money”. Originally formed as a trio of Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, and Bill Isle, the group achieved fame with their debut album, Back stabbers (1972). The album yielded bands first three hits, “back stabbers”, “992 Arguments”, and “sunshine”.

In 1979, the quartet departed Philadelphia international Records for Motown Records. Identify yourself (1979), the groups debut album for Motown, yielded the songs “identify Yourself” and “Darlin’ Darlin’ Baby.

in 1983, the band left Epic and joined with MCA Records.  Let me talk to you (1984), the groups debut album for MCA, featured the song “oh, How I Love you (Girl).” Serious, was a commercial flop. The band split up in 1995.
